When Devyn came to my Takoma Park, Maryland studio last year for her first lingerie photoshoot, she described crossdressing as an art form—one where she is both the artist and the canvas. She possessed confidence, creativity, and a clear artistic vision. While she continues to feel cute and express herself like she did at this year’s sexy lingerie photoshoot, Devyn has become a leader in bringing the local trans community together with Girls’ Nights Out (GNO).
“I’m fortunate to have such an amazing community on social media and right here in our local area,” Devyn said. “I was met with such kindness and acceptance, and I just want to pay that forward. Devyn Blossoms into a Community Leader for Trans-women and Femme-Presenting People in Washington, DC
Over the past year, Devyn and I have cohosted three “Pink Pony Club” GNOs for the DC Trans Ladies Meetup at Palette 22 and Astro Beer Hall in Shirlington, Virginia. From connections she made online and at in-person events, she also planned outings for her new group of friends that she affectionately refers to as the “District of Cuties.”
“I was already going out occasionally the first few months of my journey and met quite a few folks as well,” she said. “Nowadays I’m going out regularly, and my network of friends all over the gender spectrum, from online and locally, has grown exponentially! We love going out for some shopping, having nice dinners, and dancing! I think it’s important to show folks that the real world isn’t so scary and is full of fun and adventure!”
Devyn’s Advice on Going Out in Public en Femme
If you’ve never been out in public in girl mode, Devyn encourages you to try it and shares some advice. “I understand it can be scary and nerve wracking, but the fun definitely outweighs all of that from my experience. I know it’s not as easy depending the area you reside in, but if you’re able to safely do so, I encourage folks to take a little risk and put yourself out there. If you have any local queer groups or establishments, look for when they host events as that’s a great opportunity to meet others. There’s power in numbers and having experienced folks to help guide you and ease your anxiety can make it a much better outing!”
The Sexy Lingerie and Bridal Photoshoot
When she’s not organizing outings for the District of Cuties and the Pink Pony Club, Devyn curating the perfect femme look, whether for a night out or a lingerie photoshoot at my Takoma Park, Maryland studio. “Lingerie makes me feel so sexy and powerful! I love fashion and being stylish and that translates to lingerie too. I love the aesthetics of lace and bondage sets the most, and it’s fun finding the right shoes and accessories to complete a look!”
For this visit, her third MtF makeover with me and her second lingerie photoshoot, Devyn brought several lingerie sets including a red lace one with bondage-themed accessories and a white bridal set that we paired with a veil from my studio wardrobe. To pull off her barely-there lingerie look while retaining modesty, she used the same tricks with a breast plate and tucking tape that she described last time. Like last time, I edited the photos to remove the breast plate lines and match the breast plate to her skin tone.
