Shania Twain’s bright voice fills the room as Tiffany dances to her favorite tunes that make her feel like a woman. Tiffany loves pampering herself with a me-to-she makeover and photoshoot at my MtF transformation studio in Maryland.
In her flowing teal maxi dress and classic red lipstick, Tiffany radiates confidence and femininity. Her joy is infectious, and she embraces every moment of the transformation process. During her photo session, we play her “Tiffany playlist,” now an exuberant 68 minutes long.
The Me-to-She Makeover: “Hello, Tiffany!”
Tiffany arrives at my makeover studio with her navy garment bag in tow. She unzips the bag to reveal two maxi dresses, a fun surprise for me since she usually brings vintage-inspired outfits. She relies on my shapewear to create an hourglass shape so that her dress drapes perfectly. Tiffany slips into her teal dress and a pair of black pumps.
Tiffany has been growing her wavy, strawberry-blonde hair out for some time, and we decide to use her natural hair rather than donning a wig. I suggest that she scrunch some mousse in her damp hair to amp up her waves. Tiffany agrees and is delighted with how easily the curls form with product.
We continue on to makeup. Tiffany decides on brown eyeshadows to bring out her blue eyes and classic, red lipstick from MAC. I decide on the other details including foundation, blush, and contour. As I apply her makeup, we chat about our recent travels, fitness pursuits, restaurants, photography, and music. Tiffany also shares her recent experiences going out on the town in girl mode. We always have a fun time catching up, making the time fly by.
With her makeup done, Tiffany leaves the makeup chair and steps toward the full-length mirror. “Hello, Tiffany!” she says with a big smile on her face that extends to her eyes. Once she’s ready, we move into the photo studio to exercise her “prerogative to have a little fun.”
The Photoshoot: “Let’s go, girls. C’mon!”
As the camera clicks and the strobes pop, Tiffany moves with her favorite tunes, channeling the Shania spirit. She poses, dances, and blows a playful kiss to the camera. I can feel Tiffany’s delight fill the room. Throughout our session, we review the images together, and Tiffany beams with happiness.
The Feminine Journey Continues
All too soon, our transformation session is over, and Tiffany packs up to leave. Even though she changes back into boy clothes, she has a few tricks for leaving with her makeup intact so that she can enjoy the evening en femme at home. She brings dark sunglasses, a baseball cap, and a surgical-style face mask so that little of her face is visible as she returns home. Her disguise is complete, and she departs, ready for act two when she gets home.
