Introducing Professional Headshots!

Introducing Professional Headshots!

I’m now offering professional headshots! Not what you’d expect from a MtF makeover studio, right? I’ve been steadily improving my photography skills and equipment over the last year while working on my A.A.S. in Photography at Northern Virginia Community College. This last semester, I took a 16-week “Studio Lighting” course which made all the difference in my photography studio equipment and skills. Next semester I’ll be taking Portrait Photography and a second Photoshop course, so watch out world!

Here are two of my professional headshot images from this fall:

What are professional headshots? How do headshots differ from a Total Makeover or Fantasy photoshoots?
With a professional headshot, you are showcasing your professional image to your colleagues and potential employers. We want to capture your workplace personality, character, and demeanor with perfect lighting and attention to detail. Professional headshots are digitally retouched using Photoshop to ensure that you look your best while keeping your natural appearance. Your headshot will not have a watermark or copyright symbol affixed to it. You won’t receive any originals just the final edited image(s).

The professional headshot experience is designed to take less than an hour for a one-outfit shoot and less than 90 minutes for a 3-outfit shoot. We’ll select your image(s) for editing together before you leave. You’ll arrive with your hair and makeup ready to go. You can arrive in your business attire or change here. We’ll discuss your look via phone or email in advance.

Total Makeover photoshoots focus on your femininity and the glamor and excitement of a makeover. “Fantasy” or “Ultimate” photoshoots focus on telling a narrative story in the tradition of fine art and may include on-location photography.

What pricing options do you offer?
Check out my booking website for my current professional headshot offerings and pricing. Prices are subject to change.

Fantasy Photoshoot: Giselle Waits for her Date

Fantasy Photoshoot: Giselle Waits for her Date

Giselle posed for me in a fantasy photo shoot last week, where I sought to create the moody shadows and feeling of eroticism that I’ve seen in some of Helmut Newton’s photography. She sought to express the emotional highs and lows that she’s experienced in her years of dressing and dating as a woman. We started with basic headshots and then moved on to her role for the evening…

Giselle took painstaking care to get ready for her late night date with James, a guy she met online last month. They’d been chatting regularly since and then finally he asked her out. She meticulously shaved her whole body, going over it twice just to be sure she was silky smooth. James said he would pick her up at 11 p.m. sharp, and she didn’t want to be late. She gave her makeup one last look with her bright, green eyes, brought out by her sapphire-colored eyeshadow before she gave her face a dusting of powder and a spritz of finishing spray. Then she donned her six-inch Betsey Johnson shoes and long trench coat, grabbed her purse and a bottle of bubbly, and scurried down the back staircase to the alley, arriving at 10:58 p.m. Just on time, she thought.

The alley behind her building was just out of view of the casual passerby, and her neighbors rarely passed this way–at least not at this time of night. A parking garage was nearby if she needed a quick escape. Her heart beat with excitement to show off her new outfit and her beautiful makeup. She felt like dancing with delight and celebrating with Champagne. She knew she’d get to toast to a beautiful night soon enough, and so she waited for James…
