Kate and I had a great time getting her ready in her glamorous but casual style. She brought her wardrobe including dresses, sweaters, jeans, wigs, and sunglasses. For makeup, she knew she wanted a bold, black eyeliner look including on her waterline. We matched the color of her sequin dress to champagne, copper, rose, and brown eyeshadows from MAC. Kate loves light pink lipstick topped with shiny gloss. We waited to add the gloss until the indoor photos since wind combined with long hair can make a mess of gloss in no time.
Kate invites you to follow her on Instagram @kateshields78. Here’s how Kate describes herself:
“Since she was eight, Kate has known that her gender identity includes a significant female component. She is still discovering where on the gender identity spectrum she fits but has felt a strong pull toward female gender identity and expression since 2020. Kate loves fashion. Over the years she has evolved her look by merging casual and glamorous styles to create a unique ‘glam next door’ look. Her other photos, past and present, can be found on Instagram @kateshields78.”
